Craniosacral Therapy

Nicole Stratis
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

Arvigo® Abdominal Massage, Restorative Herbal Massage, Biodynamic Craniosacral

Nicole’s sessions orient to your wholeness and focus on presence and acceptance with what is, seeing the true healer as the innate intelligence held within your body. Many times, it needs to be witnessed and seen to be expressed fully. Nicole’s intention is to guide people home into their bodies with safety and support so that they leave the session feeling resourced, at peace, and confident in their relationship to their body to live a connected, happy life.

The foundation of Nicole’s training started with her background in Environmental Studies, working on many organic farms, in herbal gardens, and apprenticing with herbalists around the country. She was inspired to go into bodywork after awakening to the depth of connection between the earth’s health and each of our individual body’s health. To support the repair of her own nervous system and healing her relationship with her body, Nicole discovered an increased level of ease, joy, and freedom from receiving abdominal massage and craniosacral therapy herself. This led her to massage school in Oregon, where she then continued on to study Lomi Lomi Hawaiian Massage in Maui, The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage® in New Hampshire, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy in Western Massachusetts. Nicole is also a yoga teacher, with a background in kundalini and hatha and this weaves into the educational component of her sessions with bodywork clients.

“As above, so below” – our cranium and pelvis mirror one another in physicality as well as in energetics.

Using light and gentle touch, this practice is based on orienting to the health of the client’s innate wholeness. It is a whole body and whole being approach that is attuned to the subtleties of the nervous system. Through the relational field between practitioner and client, we can address areas of dysfunction where imprints (feelings/emotions, birthing experience, injuries, traumas, etc.) have created contraction in the system. This practice is rooted in co-regulation of our nervous systems, deep listening, and allowance of the body to return to its optimal health. During the session, the client stays fully clothed, and the practitioner orients to the innate intelligence (instead of disease), senses into the craniosacral tides, and places contact on areas such as the head, sacrum, feet, and extremities.
Supportive for anything from headaches, chronic pain, post-surgery rehab, birth trauma, emotional and spiritual distress, and wellbeing maintenance.

Nicole is about to complete her 2-year program and is currently offering free practice sessions to support her education.

Nicole is a trauma informed practitioner and meets you where you are, with the goal of helping you to leave feeling more confident in your self-healing ability.

What to Expect from the First Appointment

The initial appointment begins with a consultation and intention setting. There is space to connect with you and what is presently wanting to be expressed – in the physical, emotional, mental, sensory, relational, energetic, and spiritual aspects to your being. Biodynamic Craniosacral always begins with settling the nervous system so once you lay down, Nicole sits beside you while she orients you to the space. Typically, we begin at the feet to check in with the whole body and whole being and then move to different long holds throughout the body as needed. This work is “very polite”, meaning that permission is asked as Nicole moves around from each position to allow you to feel what hand placement feels most supportive for you. She checks in verbally throughout the session to see what is arising for you. There are many times when the session includes a lot of silence for you to drop into your personal experience. Nicole checks in with you at the end of the session for any questions and leaves you with any relevant educational resources to continue your integration at home.
