Shay has been working in the medical field as a nurse since 2010 and currently works part-time in primary care here at WLHC; which compliments the world of electrology perfectly!
Unwanted hair can be a source of frustration for any of us and electrology is a solution. As an RN, Shay understands the link between hair growth and hormonal imbalances like Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and menopause. With a background in transgender care, Shay is also able to help prepare anyone undergoing gender reassignment surgery.
As a graduate of the Electrology Institute of New England in Massachusetts, Shay is excited to be able to expand her ability to give care to anyone who is ready to start their journey with electrology; regardless of one’s concerns, goals, or medical issues. No matter your reason for exploring hair removal, Shay is available to answer any questions that you may have.
Electrolysis remains the only FDA approved permanent hair removal technique to date. This process is done through the application of heat and/or current with multiple setting options to fit the clients needs. A combination of the latest equipment with the proper technique enhances the experience and successful elimination of the unwanted hair. Electrology can safely and surely start the process of removing the root of your problem and it is Shay’s top priority to ensure that the process is very efficient and comfortable.
It is important to emphasize that this is a process. Each and every hair follicle must be treated individually and multiple times to permanently cut off the blood supply feeding the hair. Consistency is key, especially as we begin, as treating each hair in its growing phase offers the most effective treatment. Electrolysis works on any skin type and any color of hair. The length of time that a client will require to reach their goals depends on many factors and will be discussed in a free consultation. This is not a one and done procedure; reaching permanency can take time and it is a journey. Patience, commitment and comfort are key to success!

What to Expect from the First Appointment
Your first appointment is actually a free consultation.
We will discuss your medical history to be sure that you have no contraindications for treatment with electrolysis. The process will be explained in detail and all of your questions answered. We will go over the pre- and post-treatment recommendations and review a schedule that will work best for your lifestyle. If you wish to have a session right after your consultation, time will be allotted for a treatment when we schedule your consultation.
