Patricia Ford, APRN

Patricia M. Ford is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from the University of Vermont Family Nurse Practitioner program in 1980. Later, Pat received a Bachelor of Science degree from New England College and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Connecticut. After working with several family physicians in collaborative practice, she opened her own family practice known as Healthy Generations in Franklin, NH in 1987 with an emphasis on preventative care. Patricia Ford operated Healthy Generations for 13 years until the practice expanded and eventually became Westside Health Care under the management of Lakes Regional General Hospital, Laconia, NH in 2003.

A love of water and a desire to sail oceans prompted her to take early retirement with her husband in 2004, move aboard their sailboat and sail to the Caribbean.

This love for the ocean inspired Pat’s second career. She developed and operated Sail Amaryllis, a sailing charter business for 3 years. Pat alternated between winters in the Virgin Islands and summers in Portsmouth, NH with her husband, Bob.

In 2007, the call to return to nursing practice was answered for Pat when she began managing the First Aid Station on Star Island, Isle of Shoals for the Star Island Corporation’s offshore seasonal Conference and Retreat Center. As the Island Nurse Practitioner, health care and logistical challenges arose daily with the 300 weekly rotating conferees of all ages residing on Star Island along with 100 staff. Despite these challenges, the joy of island living has her returning yearly for the experience.

In 1991, she was honored by her peers to receive the New Hampshire Nurse Practitioner of the Year Award. In 2014, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the New Hampshire Nurse Practitioner Association.

Pat joined Whole Life Health Care in November 2009, eager to practice in a setting that offers integrative health care for individuals and families. She brings 50 years of total nursing experience in Maternal and Child Health, Women’s Health, Adult Health and Urgent Care.

Pat became a Certified Medical Examiner in 2014 and is listed in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners. As a medical examiner, she is certified to perform qualifying physical examinations for commercial motor vehicle drivers in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

Patricia Ford, APRN, is currently out of the office on a Medical Leave of Absence.
