Kay Patch is a licensed clinical nursing specialist in advanced practice psychiatric mental health nursing. Kay conducts psychiatric mental health evaluations, provides psychiatric medication management and subsequent education related to symptom relief and medication effectiveness. She also provides therapy for adolescents, adults and families.
Ms. Patch is currently the medical director for a therapeutic boarding school for struggling teenagers where she oversees health center nursing services and provides consultation, psychiatric medication management and individual and occasional group and family therapy. Kay has taught undergrad/graduate psychiatric nursing students at the university level.
Kay’s personal and professional philosophy is rooted in the tenets of the neurobiological processes of interpersonal relationships. A working partnership between client and practitioner is integral toward emotional safety and therapeutic process and is established as a result of mutually interactive acceptance and positive regard. Evidence based strategies can be incorporated into a plan of care designed and co-created within the therapeutic alliance and then integrated into the therapy process.
Eclectic in therapeutic style, Kay often uses expressive artistic modalities to augment her therapy approach consistent with Interpersonal Relations, Attachment and Systems Theories.
Kay is licensed in NH, and ME.
